C-SERVEES partners organised the Workshop “WEEE - Circular economy opportunities”
The workshop was held in Sardinia (Italy) on 03 October 2019 within the framework of the 17th Symposium on Waste Management and Landfilling. Enrique Moliner (AIMPLAS) provided a general overview of the C-SERVEES project. Bernd Kopacek (SAT) presented some of the project progresses regarding the circular economy business models for the electrical & electronic sector. Patrick Carminati explained how circular economy is being implemented at Lexmark, as well as the role of Lexmark in the C-SERVEES project. Finally, Pascal Leroy showed the main results from the C-SERVEES survey on opportunities and barriers to circular economy.
After that, the workshop continued with an open discussion with the audience around the central question: “Is circularity possible in the electronics sector?”. Key issues in circular economy business models were discussed, such as price signals and the market, design, consumption and production patterns, legislation and technology, among others.
